Bids will be on a lump-sum basis. Segregated bids will not be accepted. All bids must be accompanied by bid security equal to five percent (5%) of the base bid and all additive alternates, must be in the form of a certified check, cashier’s check or bid bond written by a company licensed to do business in Louisiana, countersigned by a person who is under contract with the surety company or bond issuer as a licensed agent in this State and who is residing in this state. No Bid Bond indicating an obligation of less than five percent (5%) by any method is acceptable. Contractors have the option of submitting bids electronically at: https://www.bidnetdirect.com/louisiana/desotoparishschoolboard in lieu of sealed bids.
Bids shall be accepted from Contractors who are licensed under LA. R.S. 37:2150-2192 for the classification of Mechanical and meet all qualifications as the following factors will be considered:
contracts previously completed by the Bidder and whether Bidder (a) maintains a permanent place of business, (b) has adequate plant and equipment to do the task properly and expeditiously, (c) has the financial resources to meet all obligations incidental to the task, and (d) has appropriate technical experience. Bidder is required to comply with provisions and requirements of LA R.S. 38:2212(B)(5). No bid may be withdrawn except under the provisions of LA. R.S. 38:2214.
The successful Bidder will be required to furnish a performance and payment bond written by a company licensed to do business in Louisiana and shall be countersigned by a person who is contracted with the surety company or bond issuer as agent of the company or issuer, and who is licensed as an insurance agent in this State, and who is residing in this State, in an amount equal to the 100% of the contract amount.
A mandatory pre-bid conference will be held Tuesday, October 20, 2026, at 10:00 A.M., beginning at the jobsite, LHS Gym, located at 17228 LA-5, Logansport, LA 71049. Bids shall be accepted only from Contractors who attend the Pre-bid Conference in its entirety.
The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids for just cause. In accordance with La. R.S. 38:2212(B)(1), the provisions and requirements of this Section; and those stated in the bidding documents shall not be waived by any entity.
ANY PERSON REQUIRING SPECIAL ACCOMMODATIONS SHALL NOTIFY ARCHITECT OF THE TYPE(S) OF ACCOMMODATION REQUIRED NOT LESS THAN SEVEN (7) DAYS BEFORE THE BID OPENING.
