NOTICE TO BIDDERS

The Vermilion Parish School Board will receive sealed bids until 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, May 13, 2026 either online at www.centralbidding.com or at the Vermilion Parish School Board Charles Campbell Curriculum Annex Center, Board Room, 216 South Jefferson Street, Abbeville, Louisiana 70510, for the purpose of a Hunting, Grazing and Trapping (excluding Alligator) Lease on the following Sixteenth Section, in accordance with statues regulating the leasing of public lands:

Bid 2026.782 - Section 16, Township 14 South, Range 1 East Hunting, Grazing, and Trapping (excluding alligator) Lease Ð 320 Acres more or less, located South of the Warren Ditch

BID OPENING: Wednesday, May 13, 2026 @ 2:00 p.m.

It will be understood that the successful bidder will take into consideration that another Lessee may use the land for hunting, trapping and baiting alligator (alligator only) according to regulations set forth by the Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries Commission.

Lessee agrees to maintain the ground improvements of the 40 acres cleared out previously to prevent undesirable brush and trees from taking over cleared land.

1. Bids may be submitted for a period not to exceed five (5) years.

2. No bid can be considered for less than two thousand eight hundred dollars ($2,800.00) per year.

3. Payment for first year rental must accompany Bid 2026.782 Bid Proposal Form, and the contract will be issued for a period beginning June 18, 2026.

4. No lease can be executed for more than the number of acres in the section to bid on, and no lessee can own more than one lease.

5. NO Lessee may assign, sublease, or transfer his lease.

6. The payment required in paragraph 3 shall be by certified check or cashierÕs check.

7. The lease will be covered by the Vermilion Parish School Board blanket insurance policy. Lessee will be required to pay their portion of the insurance premium upon execution of the lease.

Bids must be sealed and the envelope marked: ÒBid 2026.782 Ð S16-T14S-R1E, Hunting, Grazing, and Trapping (excluding alligator) Lease, 320 acres more or less Ð Wednesday, May 13, 2026 @ 2:00 P.M., and include the bidderÕs name and address.Ó

Bid submitted prior to this date and time should be properly marked on the outside of the sealed envelope and should be mailed or delivered to Lori Fontenot, Purchasing Agent, Vermilion Parish School Board, 220 South Jefferson Street, P. O. Drawer 520, Abbeville, Louisiana 70510. Written receipts for bids will be issued according to law.

The Vermilion Parish School Board reserves the right to reject any and/or all bids and waive any informalities incident thereto.
