TOWN OF LAKE ARTHUR OFFICIAL MINUTES FOR MEETING OF THE MAYOR AND TOWN COUNCIL MEMBERS REGULAR MEETING FEBRUARY 5, 2026, AT 6:00 PM The Town of Lake Arthur Mayor and Board of Council met at a public hearing at 102 Arthur Ave, LA 70549, on Thursday, February 5, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. Notice of the meeting being duly exercised by the requirements of open meeting law. Council Member Debbie Abshire gave the invocation, and Mayor Lejeune led the Pledge of Allegiance. Town Clerk Mindy Marcantel called roll, and the following were present: Mayor Sampson Lejeune, Council Members: Ricky Monceaux, Duke Broussard, Debbie Abshire, and Mahlon Leblanc, in which a quorum was present. Absent was Corey Conner. Town Clerk Mindy Marcantel, representative of the Jennings Daily News and six citizens were present. It was motioned by Debbie Abshire, seconded by Ricky Monceaux to adopt the agenda. A roll call vote wat taken. The motion carried unanimously. It was motioned by Duke Broussard, seconded by Mahlon Leblanc to adopt the minutes from regular meeting on February 7, 2026. A roll call vote was taken. The motion carried unanimously. It was motioned by Debbie Abshire, seconded by Duke Broussard to approve setting the expiration date of Beth Daigle’s term on the Jefferson Davis Economic Development Commission Board to expire on December 31, 2026. A roll call vote was taken. The motion carried unanimously. Mayor Lejeune announced Lake Arthur Mardi Gras parade will run at 3:00 pm on February 7, 2026, and Please GO VOTE. Mayor Lejeune gave updates regarding Water Project is going well and Sewer Project upgrades are on target dateline so far. It was motioned by Debbie Abshire, seconded by Duke Broussard to adjourn the meeting at 6:05 pm. A roll call vote was taken. The motion carried unanimously. A PUBLIC HEARING will be held at the SPECIAL MEETING of the Mayor & Board of Alderman on Wednesday, February 13, 2026, at 8:00 am in the Lake Arthur City Hall meeting room, at 102 Arthur Ave, Lake Arthur, LA. for the purpose of PUBLIC OPINION to discuss the following proposed ordinances: To Adopt ORDINANCE NO. 633 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 628 ENACTING A BUDGET OF REVENUES, EXPENDITURE AND TRANSFERS FOR THE TOWN OF LAKE ARTHUR FOR FISCAL YEAR AUGUST 1, 2024, AND ENDING JULY 31, 2025.
