PINE PRAIRIE ENERGY CENTER, LLC,
PHASE IV EXPANSION PROJECT
Pine Prairie filed an application on August 8, 2025 in Docket No. CP25-533 with the Federal Regulatory Energy Commission (FERC) pursuant to Section 7(c) of the Natural Gas Act to amend the certificate of public convenience and necessity issued to Pine Prairie in Docket No. CP18-492. The Project will enhance the operational capabilities of the existing Energy Center while also addressing the need for firm natural gas storage capacity in the Gulf Coast region.
The Project will consist of the following components in Evangline Parish:
• Construct a sixth gas storage cavern (Cavern No. 6);
• Install approximately 2.37 miles of new 30-inch-diameter header loop pipeline and associated ancillary facilities;
• Add incremental compression and ancillary equipment at its gas handling facility; and
• Modify the existing above-ground ANR-North Meter Station facility and Highway 10 Valve Site
• Restatement of total certificated capacity from 102.6 Bcf to 87.2 Bcf and reduce the maximum daily delivery capability from 3.2 Bcf/d to 3.0 Bcf/d.
Pine Prairie is an indirect, wholly owned subsidiary of the Williams Companies, Inc. The company must obtain FERC approval to construct the proposed facilities and requested authorizations. A separate notice regarding Pine Prairie’s application will be mailed to affected landowners and other stakeholders involved with the project.
