MINUTES OF PUBLIC MEETING

LAFOURCHE PARISH RECREATION DISTRICT NO. 2

HELD TUESDAY, MARCH 18 , 2025

Proceedings of the Board of Commissioners of Recreation District No. 2 of the Parish of Lafourche, State of Louisiana, taken at a regular meeting, of said Board at the Emergency, Recreation and Community Center, 241 Recreation Drive, Raceland, LA on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at 6:12 P.M.

I. CALL TO ORDER

II. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE

The meeting was called to order by Chairman, Rocky Acosta at 6:12 P.M., and Ched Authement led the Board in the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.

III. ROLL CALL

PRESENT: Chairman, Rocky Acosta, Alton Williams and Ched Authement.

ABSENT: Co-Chairman, Jeffrey Ledet and Courtney Smith.

Also present were Supervisor, Lacey Guidry and Terri P. St. Peter, accountant.

IV. RECOGNIZING THE CITIZENS WHO WANT TO ADDRESS THE BOARD

None present.

V. APPROVAL OF MEETING MINUTES

It was motioned by C. Authement and seconded by A. Williams to approve the Public Meeting minutes of the February 18, 2025, meeting. After calling for discussion and vote Motion passed with no opposition.

VI. OLD BUSINESS:

A. Update to the Gym Floor Replacement- Floor is now being sealed with Black Glue so that the manufacturer can provide a warranty on the floor.

VII. NEW BUSINESS:

A. New Employee Hire- There were two applications received for Groundskeeper. Benjamine Cicero and Mike Breaux. One would be permanent hire, and one would be a rotating hire. It was then motioned by C. Authement and seconded by A. Williams to hire them both at a rate of $ 15.00 per hour with a 90-day Probationary period and then not to exceed $ 15.00per hour if work performance is satisfactory. After calling for discussion and vote Motion passed with no opposition.

VIII. FINANCIAL REPORT:

The Financial Report for February 2025 along with Cash Flow Statement as of 03-18-25 was presented by Accountant, Terri P. St. Peter. The Financial Report as of February 28, 2025 and payables from February 19, 2025 through March 18, 2025, in the amounts of $ 65,700.41 were approved per Motion by A. Williams and seconded by C. Authement. After calling for discussion and voting Motion passed with no opposition.

It was then motioned by C. Authement and seconded A. Williams to ratifyLamp Fund transfer of $ 50,000.00 made into checking account on 3-13and to ratify transfer of $ 20,000.00 made back into the Lamp Fund on3-19-25. After calling for discussion and vote Motion passed with noopposition.

IX. SUPERVISORS REPORT:

Mrs. Guidry reported that a person wants to rent the gym for childs BirthdayParty that would include 26-year-olds. Discussion then followed and it wasmotioned by C. Authement and seconded by A. Williams to table the matteruntil next meeting and to get more information. After calling for discussionand vote Motion passed with no opposition. A cost of $100.00 per hourminimum and $20.00 per hour for Gym attendant along with a $500.00damage deposit was quoted.

She handed out 2024 YTD Budget Report from Lafourche Parish thatreflected a Balance due to them of $39,953.81 due to override on Salariesand Expenditures paid by the Parish on the Districts behalf.

X. CHAIRMAN OF THE BOARD REPORT: None.

ADJOURNMENT:

There being no further business to come before the Board, it was then motioned by Ched Authement and seconded by Alton Williams to adjourn the meeting. Motion passed with no opposition. The meeting adjourned at 7:02 pm.

The next Board Meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at 6:00pm at 241 Recreation Dr., Raceland, LA 70394.
