Regular Council Meeting Minutes

April 8, 2025

Present:

Aldermen: Claire Lopez, Ronnie Malmay, Orland Anderson,

Clerk: Mindy Garcie

Water Operator: Nick Paddie

Meeting was called to order by Mayor P. Campbell. Prayer and Pledge of Allegiance was led by P. Campbell

1. O. Anderson made motion to approve agenda. R. Malmay seconded. Motion carried.

2. March 2025 Meeting minutes were presented by M. Garcie. C. Lopez moved to approve minutes as read. R. Malmay seconded; motion carried.

3. Water Report -

a. N. Paddie reported that the Nitrification plan is working.

b. C. Lopez requested a list of needed tools and equipment for water system improvements. N. Paddie shared a list.

c. N. Paddie is scheduling a rate study for this summer.

4. Mayor's Report

a. Cleco removed tree over line on Red Bud Lane. Council discussed 3rd party in town trimming electric line right of way.

b. P. Campbell sent invoices for damage costs to Swyft for repayment.

c. P. Campbell completed a census survey on behalf of the village.

d. Council discussed revising amendment for receipt of franchise fees within village limits.

5. Grants Report

a. C. Lopez reported submission of payment requests for expenditures.

b. Street signs have been delivered and will be installed by the Police Jury.

c. C. Lopez and O. Anderson voted to use Lakeside Construction for city hall exterior renovations.

d. C. Lopez informed council that 2026/2027 LGAP application has been submitted.

e. O. Anderson motioned that village keep current insurance. R. Malmay seconded. Motion carried.

6. Financial Report

a. M. Garcie presented council with March financial reports. The Budget to actual comparison was reviewed and signed by the council.

b. M. Garcie submitted bills for approval. Council approved payments.
