Regular Fire Board Meeting

December 19th ,2024

The meeting was called to order by the President of the Fire Board, Jimmy Ledet at 7pm.

Roll called and attendance taken. Members present are as follows:

-Fire Company No.1- Ron Bourgeois, Josh R. Bourgeois

-Protector Fire Company No.2 Michael Palmer, Shane Guin

-Home Hook and Ladder - Chris Grabert, Steven Grabert

-VCH Cam Herpel, Rodney Gautreaux

-North Thibodaux - Rodney Tabor, Ken Himel (Absent)

-South Thibodaux - Jerome Benoit, Casey Levron (absent)

-West Thibodaux - Ty Landry, Michael Hebert

-Bowie Fire Company No.1 - Jimmy Ledet, Jared Kees (Absent)

-Chief Tony Boudreaux

-Asst. Chiefs Todd Albert (Absent), Glyn Comeaux, Brian Tauzin

-Department Treasurer Ed Comeaux (absent)

-Department Secretary Donald Barrilleaux

-Department Legal Counsel Robert Cavell

-Mayor Keven Clement (Absent)

Steven Grabert made a motion to accept November 2024 Board minutes. The motion was second by Ty Landry. Motion carried 13-0.

COMMUNICATIONS

-As new board year starts, please start ethics training

-The joint meeting will be held at the Harang Auditorium on Friday January 17th,2025. Doors open at 6pm. The meeting starts at 7pm.

COMMITTEE REPORTS

-Fair Chairman Walton Guidry informed the Board of the status of 2025 Fair. All information will be announced at the Fairs Media Day on January 25th at new South Thibodaux Station. Company No.1 will sell egg rolls

-Entertainment Band line up is Finalized and set. Requesting an extension on the Finalizing of Band Contracts (see additional Agenda item)

CHIEFS REPORTS

Chief Tony Boudreaux reported

-As requested by the Parish President, a list will be summitted of Volunteer Firefighters who meet the requirements for the new state tax exemption for Fire responders.

-Had a very nice line officers annual dinner last week.

-Thank you to the Board, line officers, Chiefs and members for a great year

-Asst Chief Glyn Comeaux Happy Holidays

-Asst Chief Brian Tauzin Happy Holidays

TREASURERS REPORT

-Motion by Steven Grabert and seconded by Micheal Hebert to pay all bills. Motion passed 10-0-3 With Jimmy Ledet, Ty Landry, Ron Bourgeois abstaining.

-$48k dollars left to collect from the 2024 Fair.

UNFINISHED BUSINESS

-South Thibodaux Station (President Jimmy passed Gavel to vice-President Chris Grabert for this Agenda item) Motion to approve Change order on South Thibodaux Station (see attached). Motion by Shane Guin and second by Michael Palmer Motion passed 11-0-2

-Operations Center: Work continuing. Pouring Foundation in few weeks. Steel delivery anticipated in February.

-TVFD 150-year celebration - no update

-CEA tabled until next month to give all companies chance to discuss details at their company meetings.

-Owners are continuing to remove items from the building at the corner of Plantation and Tiger. Ron Bourgeois keeps in contact with them. Hoping to be done before end of January so we can purchase building.

-Cam Herpel and Glenn Froisy both voted in as Honorary Chiefs. Congrats to both!

NEW BUSINESS

-New members

-The Chief placed a Merry Christmas Thibodaux Fire Department banner for Christmas in Peltier Park. He suggests we do something more permanent next year.

-Motion by Michael Palmer and Second by Shane Guin to add agenda item. Motion passed 13-0

-Micheal Palmer and second by Shane Guin to extend the Finalizing of the Band Contracts to January Board meeting. Motion passed 13-0.

-Motion by Michael Palmer and 2nd by Shane Guin to adjourn the meeting. Motion passed 13-0

-Meeting adjourned at 7:46pm
