VILLAGE OF PINE PRAIRIE

REGULAR MEETING

DECEMBER 12, 2024

The Governing Body of the Village of Pine Prairie met on Thursday, December 12, 2024 at the Village Hall. The following members were present: Mayor Quint West and Council Members Tammy Buxton, Gilbert Bordelon and Kevin Rodriguez.

Village Engineer Ronnie Landreneau was also present.

Police Chief LC Deshotel, Village Attorney Greg Vidrine and Superintendant of Maintenance Tony Hebert were absent.

Mayor West opened the public hearing regarding Ordinance #1-2024 (Amendment to Ordinance #3-2023), “2024 Fiscal Year Budget” and Ordinance #2-2024, “2025 Fiscal Year Budget”.

No comments were made during the public hearing.

Motion was made by Council Member Bordelon and seconded by Council Member Buxton to close the public hearing. Motion carried.

Mayor West called the regular meeting to order.

Council Member Gilbert Bordelon led the Pledge of Allegiance.

Reports:

Mayor West stated the Christmas Parade will take place on Saturday, December 14th.

Council Member Tammy Hammond reported receiving complaints on abandoned mobile homes.

Council Member Kevin Rodriguez reported two street lights out during his monthly inspection.

Village Clerk Kristan Bordelon provided the mayor and council members with a copy of the December financial statement along with a copy of all Investar Bank statements for the month of November. Motion was made by Council Member Rodriguez and seconded by Council Member Bordelon to accept the financial statement provided and excuse the clerk from reading. Motion carried.

Old Business:

Motion was made by Council Member Buxton and seconded by Council Member Bordelon to approve the minutes of the November 14, 2024 regular meeting. Motion carried.

Motion was made by Council Member Bordelon and seconded by Council Member Rodriguez to approve the payment of the monthly expenditures. Motion carried.

New Business:

Motion was made by Council Member Bordelon and seconded by Council Member Rodriguez to adopt Ordinance #1-2024, (Amendment to Ordinance #3-2023), “2024 Fiscal Year Budget”, amending the 2024 annual budget of Revenues and Expenditures to the amounts in the projected actual column as presented in the attached printout of the 2025 budget. Motion carried.

A copy of this ordinance may be viewed at the village hall during normal business hours.

Motion was made by Council Member Buxton and seconded by Council Member Bordelon to adopt Ordinance #2-2024, “2025 Fiscal Year Budget”, setting the Village’s budget of Revenues and Expenditures for 2025 as the proposed budget column amounts presented in the attached 2025 budget printout. Motion carried.

A copy of this ordinance may be viewed at the village hall during normal business hours.

Motion was made by Council Member Rodriguez and seconded by Council Member Buxton to adopt Resolution #6-2024, “LGAP”. Motion carried.

Motion was made by Council Member Bordelon and seconded by Council Member Rodriguez to adjourn. Motion carried.
