An Ordinance approving the reclassification request of 6.12 acres of property belonging to Varnessa Castain, to be rezoned from R-2 (Mixed Residential) to C-2 (Commercial), located on Highway 14, District 5, subject to compliance with Zoning Commission Staff Report ZC2024-0006, all as reviewed and recommended by the Iberia Parish Regional Planning Commission.

An Ordinance declaring the Sugarcane Festival Building and certain surrounding property in New Iberia City Park as surplus and transferring the property to the City of New Iberia in connection with the Citys renovation of and continued operation of the Sugarcane Festival Building.

An Ordinance for the regulation of public sewers and drains, private wastewater disposal, sewer system construction procedure, discharge of waters and wastes into public sewer systems, development and implementation of a pretreatment plan in Sewer District No. 1 of Iberia Parish, the installation and connection of building sewers, providing penalties for violations thereof, and otherwise providing with respect thereto.

A Resolution amending the 2024 General Fund Budget in the amount of $1,100 for the purchase of two (2) signs for the dedication of Admiral Doyle Drive in Iberia Parish as Veterans Memorial Drive.

A Resolution amending Resolution No. 2011-61, adopted March 9, 2011, which approved a list of Parish drainage channels to be sprayed (ditches and channels as listed) in order to add a drainage ditch located near Morgan Street, Walter Boutte Street, and Captain Boutte Street, located in Jeanerette, Louisiana to the spray list, located in District 12.

SUMMARY NO. 204 (Introduced by Natalie Broussard, District 6)

A Resolution amending Resolution No. 2011-61, adopted March 9, 2011, which approved a list of Parish drainage channels to be sprayed (ditches and channels as listed) in order to remove a drainage ditch located at Timberstone Drive and Barrow Street from the spray list, located in District 6.

SUMMARY NO. 205 (Introduced by Waterworks District No. 3)

A Resolution amending the 2024 Waterworks District No. 3 Fund Budget in the amount of $425,532 to recognize additional grant proceeds from the Louisiana Division of Administration through the Water Sector Program allowing for the additional funding needed to Advertise Water Sector Contract No. 3 - Water Plant Improvements.

Note: A motion to Suspend the Rules is needed as this item was not considered by the Joint Committee.

MINUTES

Regular Joint Committee Meeting of October 9, 2024.

EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE: 1. Discuss and consider an Ordinance to expand the Tax Increment Financing (TIF) District for further development of the First Solar Warehouse located at 2211 N. Grand Prairie Road and 675 Site to include Progress Point and La. Highway 88 from On The Run Service Station, located at 3310 Coteau Road to Labit Road.

2. Discuss and consider amending Resolution No. 2024-117, which amended the 2024 General Fund Budget to include election expenses in the amount of $10,000 and establish an early voting location in Jeanerette, Louisiana, for clarification that said amendment is for establishing an early voting location in Jeanerette, Louisiana for future elections. (Lady Fontenette Brown, District 12)

3. A Resolution ordering and calling an election to be held in the Fire Protection District No. 1 of the Parish of Iberia to authorize the levy of an ad valorem tax therein. (Fire Protection District No. 1)

FINANCE COMMITTEE:

1. Discuss and consider a Resolution utilizing the balance of ARPA funds to contract out canal cleaning to improve drainage for the citizens of Iberia Parish. (Marcus Bruce Broussard, District 3)

Note: This item was tabled at the September 18, 2024 Joint Committee Meeting.

2. Discuss and consider amending the 2024 Public Building Maintenance Fund Budget to provide funding for repair of the Courthouse Annex Roof in the amount of $49,500. (Parish President)

3. Discuss and consider a Resolution accepting the annual operating budget of Hospital Service District No. 1 of the Parish of Iberia, Louisiana for Fiscal Year beginning October 1, 2024 and ending September 30, 2025, all as recommended by the Hospital Service District No. 1 Board of Commissioners; providing for the effective date thereof; and otherwise providing with respect thereto.
