VILLAGE OF FLORIEN

MINUTES

September 9, 024

The Village of Florien held a public hearing to accept comments on Ordinance No.

202 of 2024, An Ordinance to make appropriations for the expenses of the

municipality and to provide relative the expenditures of said appropriations for

the fiscal year October 1, 2024, thru September 30, 2025. There were no

comments or concerns.

The Village of Florien called to order its regularly scheduled board meeting at

5:00 p.m. on Monday, September 9, 2024

In attendance were the following: Eddie Jones, Jr. Mayor, Suzanne Williams

Alderwoman , Brennan Jones Alderman, Geri Alford Clerk/Treasurer, Stuart

Anthony Chief of Police, Officer Kleven F3, and Officer Wilkerson F4.

Suzanne Williams led the meeting in prayer.

Stuart Anthony led the meeting in the Pledge of Allegiance.

Brennan Jones made a motion to approve the agenda, Suzanne Williams seconed

the motion, it passed unanimously.

-The consent calendar was presented: minutes of the previous meeting July 1,

2024; the financial report of the Treasurer-line item, along with transfers; budget

compared to actual expenditure and receivables; the Marshall's report; payment

of outstanding bills signified by initials on payments; tax commissioner's report;

street commissioner's report; and Water Department report.

Suzanne Williams made a motion to approve the consent calendar, Brennan

Jones seconded the motion, it passed unanimously.

-Old Business:

The title of Ordinance # 202 of 2024 was read aloud, Brennan Jones made a

motion to approve Ordinance No. 202 of 2024, An Ordinance to make

appropriations for the expenses of the municipality and to provide relative the

expenditures of said appropriations for the fiscal year October 1, 2024, thru

September 30, 2025, Suzanne Willaims seconded the motion, it passed

unanimously.

Suzanne Williams, Alderman, gave an update on SWEPCO contacts and a map

for streetlights.

New Business:

Suzanne Williams made a motion to approve the audit engagement with

Windham & Redd L.L.C. for the fiscal year ending September 30, 2024, Brennan

Jones seconded the motion, it passed unanimously.

Suzanne Williams made a motion to approve the agreed upon procedures

engagement with Windham & Redd L.L.C. for the fiscal year ending September

30, 2024, Brennan Jones seconded the motion, it passed unanimously.

Brennan Jones made a motion to approve the Louisiana Compliance

Questionnaire for the Audit Engagements of Governments, Suzanne Willaims

seconded the motion, it passed unanimously.

Suzanne Williams made a motion to purchase monogramed shirts for elected

officials and employees, Brennan Jones seconded the motion, it passed

unanimously.

Brennan Jones made a motion to approve the purchase of new uniforms with

newly designed patches, armor vests, and newly designed patches, for the quote

received from Caplan's, Suzanne Williams seconded the motion, it passed

unanimously.

Brennan Jones made a motion to approve erecting a new fence for the elevated

storage tank, Suzanne Williams seconded the motion, it passed unanimously.

Brennan Jones made a motion to adjourn the meeting, Suzanne Williams

seconded the motion, it passed unanimously. The next regularly scheduled board

meeting will be held at 5:00 p.m. on October 7, 2024.
