Notice of Availability of the

Proposed Public Housing Agency (PHA)

Annual Plan for Fiscal Year 2024

The 1998 Quality Housing and Work Responsibility Act requires the Housing Authority of Jefferson Parish to complete and submit Public Housing Agency (PHA) Annual Plans to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), and that the public be given the opportunity to provide comments.

Beginning on August 9, 2024, the proposed Housing Authority of Jefferson Parish PHA Annual Plan for Fiscal Year 2024 will be available for review by the general public and can be found at:

The Plan may be viewed between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. To request an alternate format of the Plans, or for general information, you may call the Housing Authoritys administrative office at (504) 321-0435.

Notice of 45-Day Public Comment Period

August 9, 2024 September 23, 2024

A 45-day public comment period regarding the Housing Authoritys proposed PHA Annual Plan for Fiscal Year 2024 will begin on August 9, 2024, and conclude at the close of business on September 23, 2024. Public comments will be accepted anytime during the 45-day public comment period. Concerned residents should submit their comments to the Housing Authority of Jefferson Parish, 1718 Betty Street, Marrero, LA 70072. E-mailed responses may be sent to bbell@hajp.org . Written comments will be accepted on or before September 23, 2024, and oral comments will be accepted in person at the Public Hearing mentioned below.

A Public Hearing will be held to review and solicit comments from the general public regarding the proposed Housing Authority of Jefferson Parish PHA Annual Plan for Fiscal Year 2024. The hearing will occur on September 24, 2024, at 5:00 pm in person at the Housing Authority of Jefferson Parish Community Room located at 1718 Betty Street, Marrero, LA 70072.
