ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS

CITY OF WESTWEGO

STATE OF LOUISIANA

Sealed Bids will be received by the City of Westwego at City Hall, 1100 4th Street, Westwego, LA 70094 until the hour of 4:00 p.m. (Local Time), Monday, September 9, 2024 and publicly opened thereafter.

Bid Openings:

All bids will be publicly opened at the 1100 4th Street, Westwego, LA 70094 location at 6:00 p.m. at the Westwego Council Meeting.

The public bid opening will begin at 6:00 p.m. for the bid opening date for the following project:

WHARF PHASE 3B UTILITIES AND SITE IMPROVEMENTS

The project consists of installing sidewalks, electrical platform and equipment, sewer grinder pump, electrical conduit and wire, sewer pipe and water pipe. The project address is #1 Van Ness Road, Westwego, LA 70094.

This project will be Sales Tax Free in accordance with LSA-R.S. 47:301(8)(C).

All bids must be in accordance with the contract documents on file with the City of Westwego, 1100 4th Street, Westwego, LA 70094. All bidders must show the Project Name on the outside of their bid envelope. Late bids will not be accepted.

Each Bid must be accompanied by bid surety bond in the amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total amount bid, and payable without condition to the owner.

The drawings and specifications are on file and open for inspection in the City of Westwego, City Hall, 1100 4th Street, Westwego, Louisiana 70094. A complete set of Contract Documents may be secured from APTIM, 2424 Edenborn Ave City, Suite 450, Metairie, LA., 70001, Phone: 504-832-4878 or fax 504-832-4897 by licensed contractors upon receipt of $25.00 per set. Deposit on the first set of documents furnished bona fide prime bidders will be fully refunded upon return of documents in good condition no later than ten (10) days after receipts of bids.

The successful bidder will be required to furnish a performance and payment bond guaranteeing faithful performance of the contract. Companies providing the bonds shall comply with the requirements of LRS-R.S. 38:2218 and R.S. 38:2219 as applicable.

The City of Westwego reserves the right to reject all bids and to reject bids for just cause, pursuant to the law. The City of Westwego and its partners as the recipients of state funds are fully committed to awarding a contract(s) to firm(s) that will provide high quality services and that are dedicated to diversity and to containing costs. Thus, The City of Westwego encourages the involvement of minority and/or woman-owned business enterprises (DBEs, including MBEs, WBEs and SBEs) to stimulate participation in procurement and assistance programs.

All prospective bidders are invited to attend a non-mandatory pre-bid conference that will be held at 10:00 am on August 21, 2024 at City of Westwego Conference Room. However, failure to attend the pre-bid conference shall not relieve the bidder of responsibility for information discussed at the conference. Furthermore, failure to attend the pre-bid conference and inspection does not relieve the successful bidder from the necessity of furnishing materials or performing any work that may be required to complete the work in accordance with the specification with no additional cost to the owner.

Note: Contractors final questions regarding plans or specifications are to be submitted to APTIM by close of business Monday, August 26, 2024.
