Regular Meeting Minutes

July 8, 2024

6:00 P.M.

The Village of Anacoco met for the regular town meeting on July 8, 2024, at 6:00 P.M. in the town hall.

Members present were Mayor Keith Lewing: Council Members John Schraven, John Guy & Shane Freeman

Municipal Clerk Rindie Racca & Chief Mike OToole

Visitors present: Mike Laughlin, Brigitte OToole, Leroy Cooley, Toby Airhart, Carol Jeane, Hilda Morrison,

Dan Horn-Trujillo, Gilbert & Heather Warner

Mayor Lewing called the meeting to order and welcomed all visitors.

Invocation was given by Leroy Cooley, Pledge of Allegiance led by John Schraven.

Move by Freeman, 2nd by Guy to adopt the minutes as printed for June as well as the current financials and

budget to actual. Motion passed. 3 Yeas

Move by Guy, 2nd by Freeman to submit the monthly Resolution to the police jury for routine maintenance. 3 Yeas

Move by Freeman, 2nd by Schraven to reaffirm Beauregard News/Leesville Leader as the Village Official Journal.

Move by Freeman, 2nd by Guy to reappoint Windham & Reed, CPA, LLC as the auditor for the town. Motion passed.

Move by Guy, 2nd by Freeman to purchase electric panel & switch box for the generator. Motion passed.

Move by Schraven, 2nd by Freeman to accept Ordinance #02-2024, Amendment to Ordinance #6-2023 GFB. 3 Yeas

Move by Schraven, 2nd by Freeman to accept Ordinance #3-2024 GF Budget for 2024-25. 3 Yeas

Mayor Lewing stated the governor signed the bill for Anacoco to receive $720,000 to replace the North Tank & line.

We appreciate Senator Reese and Representative Schamerhorn for assistance.

Attorney Bush stated in April the governor signed a law where 17 yr. olds be tried as adults.

Move by Freeman, 2nd by Schraven to pay all due bills. Motion passed.

There being no other business, Schraven moved to adjourn, 2nd by Freeman. Motion passed.

Next town meeting Monday, August 12th @ 6:00 PM
