ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS
•GENERAL-The Owner of this Project is the Housing Authority of Breaux Bridge, Louisiana. 617 Molbert Lane, Breaux Bridge, LA 70589. The Architect for this Project is: Frick Architecture, LLC, Limited Liability Company (FA), 900 South College Road, Ste. 305 Lafayette, Louisiana 70503. Contractors are invited to submit a bid for the construction of Modernization of Housing, Roof Repairs @ 605 Molbert Lane, Breaux Bridge Housing Authority. Bids shall be accepted from Contractors who are licensed under LA R.S. 37:2150-2163 for the Classification of Building Construction.
•Each bona fide bidder is required to comply with provisions and requirements of LA R.S.38: 2212(A)(1)(c). No bid may be withdrawn for a period of thirty (30) days after receipt of bids, except under the provisions of LA R.S. 38:2214 or without the consent of the Housing Authority.
•The Work for this project is generally described as the selective interior and exterior demolition of damaged interior finishes and roofing materials and decking, replacement of roof decking, underlayment, roofing shingles, vent caps, fascia, sub-fascia, metal trim and flashings, interior gypsum finishes, painting, and other interior and exterior work as shown on the construction documents and described in the specifications.
•Bids shall be a Stipulated Sum basis as per the original documents.
•The Owner will receive sealed bids at the Central Office of the Housing Authority until 2:00 PM, CDST, Tuesday August 13th, 2024. All bids will be publicly opened and read aloud immediately after the time set for submittal.
•The Owner requires the Architect to issue Substantial Completion of the Work on or before 30 calendar days after the Notice to Proceed. Thereafter, liquidated damages will be charged.
•A Bid Security (a certified check or bank draft made payable to the Housing Authority, U. S. Government Bonds, or satisfactory Bid Bond executed by the bidder and acceptable Sureties) in the amount of 5% of the highest possible bid amount is required. Bids are required to be submitted under a condition of irrevocability for a period of 30 days after submittal. Submit bids on the Bid Form provided. Refer to Document 00 21 13 Instructions to Bidders and 00 43 93 Bid Submittal Checklist for additional information.
•Attention is called to the provisions for equal employment opportunity, and payment of not less than the minimum salaries and wages set forth in the specifications under the Davis-Bacon Act must be paid on this project. The Housing Authority reserves the right to reject any or all bids for just cause. Bidders should be aware that the project is funded by Insurance Funds from the Breaux Bridge Housing Authority insurance coverage agency.
•BIDDING DOCUMENTS- Contract documents are available free of charge in pdf format from the office of FA. All prime contractors are required to register with FA prior to receiving contract documents. Hard copies of the documents will not be provided. Partial sets of Bidding Documents will not be issued. Sub-bidders may obtain copies of Bidding Documents from prime contractor’s or by registering with FA for electronic pdf documents. Bidding Documents are available, for review only, at the Central Office of the Housing Authority. No copies will be provided to any contractor from the office of the Housing Authority. The successful bidder will be required to furnish and pay for satisfactory performance and payment bond or bonds.
•EXAMINATION OF SITE- The site is available for examination by Bidders and Sub-bidders at any time during working hours. The Bidders and Sub-bidders shall notify the Architect and the Owner 72-hours prior to visiting the site for coordination of Owner’s operation.
•PRE-BID CONFERENCE- A Pre-Bid conference will be scheduled by addendum.
