A public meeting will be held from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Tuesday, July 9th, 2024, for public comment on the following draft NOPD policies:

Chapter 16.1 - Detailing / Transfers / Filling Vacancies / Selection Process for Specialized Units

Chapter 52.1 - Complaint Intake and Investigation

Chapter 52.4 - Adjudication of Misconduct and Suspensions of Members

The NOPD Municipal Training Academy at 4650 Paris Avenue, New Orleans, LA, 70122 (parking and entry will be at the rear building accessible from Wakefield Place).

The meeting will be held to address the following:

Staffing of the Public Integrity Bureau (Chapter 16.1, paragraph 43)

Investigation timeliness requirements (see [legis.la.gov/Legis/Law.aspx?d=98276]LA R.S. 40:2531) (Chapter 52.1, paragraphs 198-202)

Timelines for imposing discipline (Chapter 52.4, paragraph 9)

Oversight of the Public Integrity Bureau (Chapter 52.1, paragraphs 28-29)

Rotation of supervisors and officers through PIB (Chapter 16.1, paragraphs 46-48)
