NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City Council of the City of Shreveport proposes to take final action on the following Resolutions and Ordinances Tuesday, March 12, 2024, at 3:00 p.m., via video/telephone conference or Government Chamber, (505 Travis Street) depending on the latest proclamation related to COVID-19.
ORDINANCE NO. 17 OF 2024
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CITY OF SHREVEPORT, LOUISIANA, 2024 CAPITAL PROJECTS FUND BUDGET, APPROPRIATING THE FUNDS AUTHORIZED HEREIN AND TO OTHERWISE PROVIDE WITH RESPECT THERETO
WHEREAS, the City Council provides for the amendment of any previously adopted budget, and WHEREAS, the City Council finds it necessary to amend the 2024 Capital Projects Fund Budget to adjust appropriations and for other purposes. NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Shreveport, in due, regular and legal session convened, that Ordinance No. 120 of 2023, the 2024 Capital Projects Fund Budget, be further amended and re-enacted as follows: In Program C (Street Improvements): Increase Project C24005, Shreveport Healthcare and Development Corridor by $955,000. Funding source of revenue is $955,000 in State Capital Outlay funding. Adjust totals and subtotals accordingly. BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that the remainder of Ordinance 120 of 2023, as amended, shall remain in full force and effect. BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that is any provisions or item of this ordinance or the application thereof is held invalid, such invalidity shall not affect other provisions, items or applications of this ordinance which can be given effect without the invalid provisions, items or applications; and, to this end, the provisions of this ordinance are hereby declared severable. BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that all ordinances or parts thereof in conflict herewith are hereby repealed

ORDINANCE NO. 19 OF 2024
AN ORDINANCE CLOSING AND ABANDONING AN ALLEY IN THE SCHUMPERT SUBDIVISION OF TAL 23, SHREVEPORT, IN SECTION 37 (T18NR14W), AND TO OTHERWISE PROVIDE WITH RESPECT THERETO
WHEREAS, on December 13, 1900, the Schumpert Subdivision of TAL 23, Shreveport was filed and recorded in Book 26, Page 359, of the Conveyance Records of Caddo Parish, Louisiana; and WHEREAS, said subdivision dedicated to the public four 20 wide alleys in TAL 23; Shreveport; and WHEREAS, the Office of the City Engineer has received a request from Department of Community Development to close and abandon the alley that lies between Schumpert Street and Christian Street AND between Travis Street and Sprague Street, for the development of the Bayou Grande Apartments project; and WHEREAS, the City of Shreveport owns 100% of the adjacent linear footage of the 20 wide alley to be closed and abandoned; and WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Planning Commission approved this closure and abandonment; and WHEREAS, the proposed closure and abandonment meets the requirements and approval of the City Engineers Office; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED, by the City Council of the City of Shreveport, in due, regular and legal session convened, that the 20 wide alley, that lies between Schumpert Street and Christian Street AND between Travis Street and Sprague Street, in Schumpert Subdivision of TAL 23, Shreveport, as shown and indicated on the plat attached hereto and made a part hereof, is officially closed and abandoned. BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED, that a permanent utility servitude shall be retained over the entire area of the closure and abandonment. BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED, that a certified copy of this ordinance shall be filed and recorded in the official records of Caddo Parish, Louisiana. BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED, that if any provision or item of this ordinance or the application thereof is held invalid, such invalidity shall not affect other provisions, items or applications which can be given effect without the invalid provisions, items or applications, and to this end, the provisions of this ordinance are hereby declared severable. BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED, that all ordinances or resolutions or parts thereof in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.

AN ORDINANCE CLOSING AND ABANDONING AN ALLEY IN THE WIMBISH SUBDIVISION IN SECTION 32 (T18N-R13W), AND TO OTHERWISE PROVIDE WITH RESPECT THERETO
WHEREAS, in May 1904, the Wimbish Subdivision was filed and recorded in Book 33, Page 770, of the Conveyance Records of Caddo Parish, Louisiana; and WHEREAS, said subdivision dedicated to the public a 20 wide alley between Lots 5, 6, 7, & 71; and WHEREAS, the Office of the City Engineer has received a petition from S & O Capital, LLC and Samih Ali to close and abandon the afore-mentioned alley; and WHEREAS, the Petitioners own 100% of the adjacent linear footage of the 20 wide alley to be closed and abandoned; and WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Planning Commission approved this closure and abandonment; and WHEREAS the proposed closure and abandonment meets the requirements and approval of the City Engineers Office; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED, by the City Council of the City of Shreveport, in due, regular and legal session convened, that the 20 wide alley, that lies between Lots 5, 6, 7, & 71, of the Wimbish Subdivision, as shown and indicated on the plat attached hereto and made a part hereof, is officially closed and abandoned.
