Audubon Nature Institute on behalf of Audubon Commission is soliciting qualifications from highly qualified firms to provide Construction Manager at Risk Services (CMAR) for two exhibits at the Audubon Zoo located at 6500 Magazine St., New Orleans, LA 70118. Successful Proposer(s) shall provide services required for Construction Manager at Risk Services in accordance with any applicable state laws, including but not limited to Title 38:2225.2.4 Public Bid Law on Construction Manager and State of Louisiana Contractors Law for Building Construction. Companies submitting a qualification for review shall be licensed in the State of Louisiana and shall be required to submit the license number in their submittal package. Companies that will enter into a joint venture are required to all be licensed under their company name but are not required to have the joint venture license until prior to contract award. CMAR for public projects identifies the following reasons to use the CMAR delivery method: collaboration and cost control; concurrent execution of design and construction; a complex project with a tight time frame; owner, designer, and contractor with mutual project goals; risk identification controlled by owner; and minimization of the risk of construction and design disputes by using a collaborative process. The implementation of a CMAR project delivery method for this project will adhere to these requirements in the following ways: Collaboration and cost control A collaborative design/construction process supports realistic cost estimating throughout the project life, reducing the risk of cost overruns. The project is comprised of 2 parts; the renovation of the South American pampas exhibit and the transformation of the existing Earthlab building into a space for our animal ambassadors, those animals that are featured in guest presentations. The South American pampas exhibit has a project area of approximately 2 acres. The site will include 3 animal holding buildings, habitat(s), shade structures, landscape buffers, circulation and service areas, an overhead primate trail, as well as lagoon modifications. The Ambassador Animal part involves renovation of the existing Earthlab building and addition of outdoor spaces for housing and management of the Zoos ambassador animal collection. Qualifications must be submitted at or before March 8, 2023 at 1pm CST. Qualifications shall be submitted in sealed envelopes marked Construction Manager at Risk -Audubon Zoo Exhibits. (1) Electronic file of the RFQ shall also be provided in the sealed envelope. Request for Qualifications may be obtained at www.centerlinebidconnect.com. Qualifications must be submitted to the following: Audubon Nature Institute, Purchasing Office, Attn: Cecilie Halliwill, Senior Purchasing Director,6500 Magazine Street, New Orleans, LA 70118.Qualifications, and amendments to Qualifications, received after the day and time specified above will be rejected by the Audubon Nature Institute as non-responsive and returned unopened.
