5475844 <imgp src="0005475844-01-1.jpg"> Highway 71/72 Refinery Site Public Notice U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Region 6 November 2022 The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Region 6 (EPA) will be conducting the third five-year review of remedy implementation and performance at the Highway 71/72 Refinery site (the Site) in Bossier City, Louisiana. The Site is about 2 miles east of downtown Shreveport and 1,500 feet north of the Red River. A crude oil refinery once operated at the 215-acre area. Its operations resulted in soil and groundwater contamination. The Site's remedy includes cleanup of soil, groundwater and indoor air, as well as institutional controls and long-term monitoring. The five-year review will determine if the remedies are still protective of human health and the environment. The five-year review is scheduled for completion in May 2023.
